I have a sad? impressive? not sure? confession to make: my washer is over 25 years old. My husband owned it when I met him, which would be 25 years ago now. And … it’s just kept running. It’s nothing fancy, but since there’s nothing really wrong with it, I still have it.

But wow, do I sometimes drool over the beautiful new washers out there. A great example is the LG Twin Wash system which includes LG Front Load laundry paired with LG’s SideKick Pedestal Washer, available at Best Buy.

LG Twin Wash System

If you’ve never heard of a pedestal washer (I hadn’t), it is great for small loads that you need now — a red shirt in a basket full of white stuff. Your kid’s soccer uniform. Etc. This happens to me a lot, and I always feel bad running the washer for a small amount of clothes. The SideKick Pedestal Washer solves that dilemma. And you can use it simultaneously with the LG Front load washer if you’ve got both large and small loads on your agenda. Nifty! The LG SideKick can be added to almost any LG front load washer. It is styled to sit conveniently beneath your main washer, which raises the main washer to a comfortable height.

A magnetic remote lets you start, stop, or select a cycle. I gotta tell you, this wash system has so many more features than my 1990-something model.

The main washer — the innovative LG TWIN Wash — is all about efficiency, helping you get more clothes cleaner in less time. It features an ergonomically-elevated and angled door that makes loading and unloading easier. And the LED control panel is located right on the door — handy! There’s a TurboWash feature that saves  up to 30 minutes on larger loads, TurboSteam technology to penetrate fabrics deeply for better cleaning power. The lid has an easy-to-fill detergent tray with a recessed design to help prevent spills. Nice! And doesn’t the steel finish look classy?

Ready for a new washer, or two?

  1. I am very impressed with your 25 + year washer, that is quite a run. We have an older model washing machine (maybe 7 years old now) too. I always drool over the newer models at Best Buy as well. The call to save on energy by upgrading is very attractive, as is the 500 bonus deal you’ve shared.

  2. My washer and dryer are 3 years old and, like you, I was amazed what the new ones are like when I purchased them. It had been 15 years since I had looked at new ones. There are many features that I don’t use but it’s nice to have them if you want or need them. My daughter bought an LG dryer just a few years ago and really likes it.

  3. I’ve looked longingly at these in ads on TV. I think I’d love them. But since my washer and dryer must be stack-able, due to space limitations, I can’t even consider them. Besides that, since mine were new when I moved into my apartment just over five years ago, mine will probably last as long as I do. LOL! I really don’t care for mine because the capacity is so small, but any thing else that fits into that space would probably be small capacity as well. And, I must remind myself that my problem is a first-world problem. Considering that my clothes were washed on a scrub board in Africa, I ought to be thrilled with what I have. Shame on me for complaining.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I enjoy hearing your thoughts.
