Menu Plan Monday 5/29/17

Zesto ice cream

Happy Menu Plan Monday! And, happy summer. It may not be summer officially, but it feels like it here since school ended for the younger two Friday. We always head to a local ice cream place to celebrate.

This will be an unusual week here. No school, no piano lessons — but we will be gearing up for daughter #2’s high school graduation on Saturday. Daughter #1 returned safely from a great trip to Peru. And over the weekend, I took daughter #3 on her first attempts at driving. That’s never one of my favorite parenting duties, but she did an excellent job. I was grateful.

My foot is still broken (obviously), but I’m getting the hang of the air boot more. I may even venture to the grocery store this week (mainly because I need to head to the bank and pharmacy, which are both inside the store). It feels good to have some things start returning to normal … ish.

Here’s the plan for the week:

Monday: Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken with rice

Hawaiian Chicken

Tuesday: State Fair Subs — these have become a favorite around here

Wednesday: fish — daughter #1 has enjoyed making fish at college this year so I will see how she likes to make it. I think it may involve basil pesto 🙂

Thursday: Easy Crockpot Chicken Fajitas before leaving with 2 girls for a stage performance of “Newsies.” I’ve never seen it and am anxious to.

Friday: My sister gave us a Little Ceasar’s Pizza kit a while back. I think we will make those …

sometime — Strawberry Rhubarb Pie — because both are ready in the garden. Yee haw!

  1. When you venture to the grocery, just ride a motorized cart. They provide them for people like you who need it. Personally I never sat in one in my life but anyway. You’d probably need it maybe for two weeks. I know when I had my stress fracture, I avoided Walmart unless I was in a real bind. Enjoy this week. Wishing I was at Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Gordon’s today. It was a tradition.

  2. That strawberry rhubarb pie sounds very, very enticing. I, too, would suggest the motorized cart. I don’t use them often, but I sure appreciate them when I need them.

  3. Ooh! Zesto ice cream! Maybe sometime soon we can meet there. What do you put on your State Fair Subs? They sound good. My mother makes strawberry-rhubarb pie when she can get good rhubarb.
