Where Jesus Slept: Review

Where Jesus Slept

Where Jesus Slept

Remember “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly?” She swallowed the cow to catch the dog, she swallowed the dog to catch the cat, she swallowed the cat to catch the bird … and on it goes.

Or how about “The House That Jack Built?” This is the farmer sowing his corn, that kept the cock that crowed in the morn, that waked the priest all shaven and shorn … and you get the idea.

That is the pattern you’ll find in “Where Jesus Slept,” a new Christmas children’s picture book published by Worthy Kids/Ideals (thanks, Flyby, for a review copy for me and another for a giveaway).

You can read a bit of the text for yourself here. The book is large (10″ x 10.5″), a hardcover with a color dust jacket too. The illustrations are colorful and will appeal to a toddler/preschool audience. This would be a fun book to read to your favorite child in the shadow of the Christmas tree, on those wonderful December days when every child has a sense of anticipation. An added plus is that this book will help children understand and internalize the true reason we celebrate the holiday.

So, have you thought of a child who would love this book? You’re in luck, because I’m giving one away!
