Sister Wives Recipes: Christine’s Meatloaf

Sister Wives recipes Christine's meatloaf

So a while back I told you about my experience trying Sister Wives’ Meri’s Streusel Cake.

Another day, another Sister Wife. Today, let’s try Christine’s Meatloaf. I like Christine. She and Janelle probably tie as my “favorite wife” on the show. Christine is always positive and never comes across as mean to the other wives (something I can’t say about all of the others — looking at you, Meri).

I made the meatloaf as described on TLC’s Sister Wives recipes page. As I noted earlier, they don’t exactly give a lot of details. And, I made a much smaller batch. Five pounds of ground beef? Good grief!

Sister Wives Christine’s Meatloaf

  • 5 pounds ground beef
  • 5 packets onion soup mix
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups oats
  • 3 teaspoons salt

1. Mix ingredients well.

2. Form into 2 loaves and place in covered baking dish.

3. Cook at 350? for 1 1/2 hours.

As you probably notice, this is a very …um, basic recipe. And that’s pretty much how it tasted. Ground beef dressed up a little. Pretty much like eating a hamburger. I understand, though, if you’re cooking for around 20 people each night, you’re probably not going to be getting all gourmet with your cooking. If meatloaf sounds good to you, give this recipe a try and see what you think.

Do you watch Sister Wives? Which is your favorite? Have you tried any Sister Wives recipes?

  1. I don’t watch Sister Wives. It would probably drive me up a wall. I believe that if I ran across this recipe, I’d just pass on it and go on to another one. I’d want something more — to spice it up a bit.

  2. I’ve never seen this show. I don’t think I’d enjoy the concept of “sister wives.” I can’t even comprehend cooking for that many people!!

  3. Ha! She almost makes MY meatloaf! I add ketchup (2/3 cup iirc) to the meat mixture. Then, when almost done, I top it with ketchup mixed with cider vinegar, brown sugar and dry mustard. Never any leftovers. It’s from the Mrs. Grass Onion Soup package via my friend in Seymour’s older sister! It’s also really good topped with any BBQ sauce. Good the next day with cheese melted on it for a hot sandwich.

  4. Love the program “sister wives”! This recipe is to bland for me. Christine was my favorite!

  5. I watch “Sister Wives.” It’s strangely fascinating. I have never tried their recipes. Thanks for sharing. I don’t think I would like this meatloaf. There are so many different recipes for meatloaf. Crazy! kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.
