Today I'm reviewing two books from WorthyKids/Ideals. I received review copies, but as usual, you'll get my unbiased thoughts.
God Made You Just Right
As a teacher and as a mom, I know how important it is to teach our kids lessons from their earliest days. I’m not talking about math facts and ABCs — I’m talking about lessons like knowing they are loved, and that they are special.
That’s the message in the new board book, “God Made You Just Right.” The book features soft, colorful illustrations of boys and girls playing and having fun. The text portrays, in rhymes (which I love — again, as a teacher, kids learn so much about language in an effortless way by hearing rhymes), just how special they are, and how God made each of them exactly as He wanted them to be.
A board book means that little hands can easily turn the pages, and little mouths can even chew the edges a bit with little harm done. Check out this book next time you need a birthday or “just because” gift for a 2-5-year-old in your life.
Happy Birthday to You!
Birthdays are important to each of us (if you think they’re just for kids, remember a time when your birthday has been forgotten as an adult. They are still important!). But there’s something about the birthdays of childhood. The cake, the balloons, the parties, the real excitement of being another year older! That’s what “Happy Birthday to You!” celebrates.
This book is also a board book variety, so it’s sturdy. Again, the illustrations are sweet and bright. The text is short and sweet — and rhymes! Yay! As a fun extra feature, there is a button on the front that little fingers can press to hear the Happy Birthday song. And, the last page features a pocket for a photo of the special birthday boy or girl.
I recommend either of these books for toddlers. Read to them while they’re little. It pays off!
By popular demand, I’m happy to announce that WorthyKids/Ideals has offered a giveaway of BOTH of these books to a winner! Sign up on the rafflecopter below. Good luck!
