Stains. They’re part of life, and for all you young moms out there, just because your kids get older, it doesn’t mean the stains go away.

They just change.

That’s why I’m grateful for products that tackle stains that are too tough to come out easily in the wash.

Purex Plus Clorox 2

Enter Purex Plus Clorox 2. This is the Purex laundry detergent you’ve known and loved for years, formulated to get rid of the tough stains in your life. It has Clorox 2 as an ingredient, which helps it remove starchy stains (chocolate, tomato sauce), protein-based stains (grass, blood), and food stains containing guar gum (ice cream, BBQ sauce). In fact, the detergent works on 100 different stains!

I put Purex Plus Clorox 2 to the test with a favorite item of mine — a glasses case featuring a plaid named after Princess Diana.

I keep this case in my purse, and it does get a bit grimy — see the photo! I’d previously tried throwing it into the regular wash, without much success.

I followed directions on the bottle and used my Purex Plus Clorox 2 as a stain-fighting pre-treatment, applying it to the case and rubbing it in and letting it sit before washing it in warm water.

And …

…here it is “after.” Not perfect, but you know, few things are. The detergent definitely got the case much improved. I may even try the treatment again for more stain removal.

Purex has provided me with coupons for a free bottle of Purex Plus Clorox 2. I’d like to give away two to readers so that you can try this detergent as well — it appeared in stores in March of this year. Sign up using the rafflecopter form below by April 26, and I’ll choose winners April 27.
