Most of you long-timers know that I am a piano teacher. Many days, I have up to five students in a row, coming to me during the hours of 3-6. Those are hours when I often get hungry. Seriously hungry.

I can tell you that something chocolate sure would taste good. Something … crunchy too, to wake me up a little (when’s the last time you listened to “Hot Cross Buns” for 90 minutes solid? Yeah.)

So, I was really excited to discover a new snack out there — made by Snickers. It’s honestly pretty hard to improve upon basic Snickers in my opinion (although I really love the peanut butter version). But, now you also have Snickers Crisper to consider.

It’s basically like your original Snickers, but it also has a delicious crunch. It’s a combination of crisped rice and peanuts, along with a layer of caramel and coated in creamy milk chocolate. For those of you more visually-oriented, here ya go:

Yep — yummmmmmy! A single crisper (you’ll get these when you buy a bag of fun size bars) is just 100 calories, so you won’t blow your diet eating one (if — that is — you can stop at one. I’m telling you that’s a challenge). A singles pack features two pieces — one snack for now, one for later. Maybe after that next piano student 🙂

  1. I haven’t tried Snickers Crisper but, after reading your blog, I certainly want to. Sounds delicious! No, I haven’t seen it in stores but now that I know about it, I’ll be keeping an eye open. I couldn’t help but chuckle at your picture. I am sure I’ve looked like that between the hours of 3 and 6 while at work. No piano students, just too many rush jobs to finish on any given day!!

  2. I haven’t seen these in stores, but since I’m not supposed to eat refined sugar, I try to avoid that aisle as much as possible. I’m sure I would love them if they hadn’t added the rice, but I’m not so sure about that.

  3. I think I have seen these new Snickers but I have yet to pop one in my mouth. When two smaller candy bars come packaged together, I generally just eat them both! Eating is a major vice in my life. But I could have a worse issue! Yummy – wish I had one to eat right now except I would not think of eating a candy bar at bedtime. That’s a quick ticket to the Fat Farm!
