Menu Plan Monday 12/7/2015

The second menu plan week of December has arrived. I hope your Christmas preparations are in full swing and that you’re enjoying them.

Voices of Christmas choir

Saturday night I played for the Christmas cantata at the church where I play organ (one advantage of playing is that you can sneak away during an acapella part to take a picture!). It was fun, and even more so with the choir from a local elementary school participating.

This will be a busy week here — there are final piano lessons before Saturdays’ Christmas party/recital, baking for that recital, a teachers’ lunch on Friday, Nutcracker on Friday night, and more. But, it’s all fun stuff so I’m not really complaining. I will just have to plan well.

Here is the menu plan for the week:

Monday: make your own pizza — I make dough; everyone makes their own personal pizza with toppings of choice

Tuesday: Chicken Pot Pie (one of my favorites)

Wednesday: bean soup (purchased — Bob’s Red Mill brand. I like their products). Maybe bread too, if I can get it made …

Thursday: Sweet and Sour Chicken and rice

Friday: Pasta and Peas – this is similar to my recipe, although mine also has a can of diced tomatoes. We loved this for years, but I really got tired of it. It’s been awhile since I made it, so I’ll try it again …

What is new in your world this week? Are you keeping up with Christmas activities? More recipes at Org Junkie’s.

  1. Are you cooking smaller quantities now that 1/5 of your family is absent? Meanwhile at Indiana University, I hope Caroline’s enjoying her food. I would bet she is!

  2. I’ve never heard of your pasta and peas recipe, at least I don’t remember it. After finding someone to make the trek across the state to view F, at Christmas time, I’ve decided I’m not strong enough to do.

  3. Your pasta, chicken, and peas recipe sounds very good to me, but I probably won’t make it since I am still cooking for only one person here. It sure has been a long 6+ months eating alone, with quite a few more months to come. With my husband still on a feeding tube following throat cancer, this has been a very long year! Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound so depressed.
