Menu Plan Monday: Thanksgiving

midwest snow

Welcome to another Menu Plan Monday — the picture at the top shows the view out the front window yesterday. First snow of the season, and it was a big one (4 inches). It’s kind of early here for that much snow. Hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come this winter. Did you get snow where you live?

It’s Thanksgiving week, and we’ll be traveling part of the week, which happily for me, means LESS COOKING.

Here’s the plan for the week:

Monday: Make-your-own pizza — I make dough; each person puts on their own choice of toppings. Requested by daughter #1, who is home from college for the week.

Tuesday: mini Thanksgiving: turkey breast, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pumpkin pie (I make lots of pumpkin stuff, but not sure I’ve ever even made an actual pumpkin pie). This dinner was requested by daughter #3 — she remembers several years ago when we had such a meal and invited over our neighbors. It was fun!

Rest of the week — I get to eat food other people made. Yay for that!

What are your Thanksgiving plans? Do you do black Friday shopping? I really don’t, although I enjoy getting the freebies and deals at Walgreen’s and CVS this week.

Whatever your plans, I am thankful for each of you readers. I enjoy your comments and I appreciate knowing you’re out there reading. Thank you!

  1. In my fair city we did not get snow. I did not hear a single citizen complain, either. I plan to have guests for Thanksgiving. I wish you were one of them. I am not feeling well so every morning I hope things will be better.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I enjoy hearing your thoughts.
