Menu Plan Monday 11/8/2015

Wendy's chili

menuplanmonday

Welcome to another menu plan Monday! I hope you have had a good week. It was an exciting one here; my youngest daughter participated in State Finals with her band. I got to go to our state capital to watch them perform on Saturday, which was neat.

They have a huge band (291 members), and I love watching their show. It was especially nice for them to get to perform indoors without the threat of bad weather. My college-age daughter (who spent 4 years in the band), sister, dad, and 3 nieces all came too. Really fun day!

Oh, and congrats to them — third place in the state, Class A. They will have a performance (or maybe 2, if they make finals) this week at BOA (Bands of America) competition. Then, they can get some well-deserved down time.

So, what to eat this week? How about —

Monday: Skillet Lasagna — tastes almost exactly like “regular” lasagna, but so much quicker and easier …

Tuesday: Fish night — probably a bag of Gorton’s fillets, with bread machine bread and green beans.

Wednesday: Wendy’s Chili — good for a cool, dreary day

Thursday: I have some of a bag of tortellini left over from Trader Joe’s. I think I will have this with pasta sauce and some type of vegetable.

Friday: Sweet and Sour Chicken and rice

What is new in your world this week? I enjoy the comments of those of you who check in. My online friends are fun 🙂

  1. Congratulations to your daughter and her band for coming in third at the state competition! How exciting to do so well.

  2. This was funny to me, because the last marching band I was involved with (as a music teacher rather than a marcher that time) played Nights in White Satin as one of their pieces. I saw the marching band and the name of your blog…it was perfect! Congrats on third in state, and good luck at BOA!!

  3. I am so proud of the Homestead Marching Band. Third best in Indiana is not too shabby! I ate a fantastic meal last night at the Dudleytown Lutheran Church. It’s an annual event I look forward to. I bought 2 meals to go. I ate one of them tonight and will eat the other tomorrow night. I think their cooking beats the heck out of Baptists’.

  4. If what you have in the skillet is skillet lasagna, I’d like the recipe for it. It looks delicious! So proud of Daughter #3 and her fellow band members.

  5. I soooo need to start menu planning again! It saves so much time!! And money!! And headache!! And decision-making! 🙂
