Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard: Wedding Plans

It’s only 17 days until Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard tie the knot (not that anyone’s counting … :)).

No matter whether you call them “Dill,” “Jerick,” or some other moniker, the “19 Kids and Counting” couple is so gosh-darn cute that they’re attracting online attention almost to the same degree that they attract each other.

Grab a friend for a side-hug as we round up what’s known about their upcoming June 21 wedding:

  • Jill’s oldest sister, Jana, will be maid of honor. Now that daughter #2, Jill, and daughter #3, Jessa, are both on the road to marriage, here’s hoping Jana won’t be far behind …she’s beautiful and sweet. Guys, are you taking note?
  • Jill and Derick plan to marry in the same church where Jill’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, got married on July 21, 1984. Although Jill seems young at 23 to be getting married, Michelle was only 17 when she tied the knot.
  • ┬áJill and Derick have had at least two wedding showers so far, where they received gifts from their registry. Here they are pictured at a shower given by their church.

To quote Jessa’s beau, Ben Seewald, here’s a “toast to love!”

  1. I have never paid a lot of attention to the Duggars. You are my primary source of information.

  2. I watched yesterday evening’s episode. I missed though, if Derick wrote the song, or if he had the guys write it. Could you help me with that, please? With my hearing loss, there is so much I miss on TV now. BTW, does Derick have a father in the picture? I haven’t figured that out yet. I’ve never seen the father. Also, what kind of work does Derick do? I saw the clip where Jim Bob asked how he intended to provide for Jill, but I also missed the response to that question.

  3. I’ve never really followed the show except what you’ve written. I did see a few minutes last night. They make a cute couple but I really can’t get past the fact that there are 19 children in the Duggar family.

  4. They are the sweetest couple. Derick did not write the song but contributed the information that was used in it. It was a lovely tribute to their story. I particularly liked the line “He thought of me when he made you”. I’m not a devout Christian but I appreciated how Derick expressed his gratitude for Jill being brought into his life.

No matter your feelings on the size of their family or their religious beliefs. Jim Bob and Michelle have purposefully set out to raise children with good morals, love of God and others, helping hearts, and to just be decent, caring people. They have done an amazing job. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for their family.

  5. I absolutely cannot wait until we see the wedding. This family has become a highlight in our home.

  6. Thankyou Duggar family for showing the world that you are not afraid of expressing your faith. This is what true believers do.Our family will continue to pray for the Family.God Bless you all and may his loving peace be with you.

  7. My wish for Jill and Derick is a beautiful wedding with their closest family and friends, and a very happy lifetime together.

  8. I cant wait to watch the wedding, Jill and Derick are so sweet together. When Derick is talking to the camera he seems so nervous, Congratulations you guys.

  9. Love the show, have watched it over the years. It is refreshing to see a loving family that supports one another. The values they live with should be in all our homes. It’s shows that with work and patients the a family can grow to be strong, without out side influences. God has a plan for all his children….This family took it to heart and it’s working in them.

Thank you Duggar Family for the healthy living you are showing on your program….Hope it helps others.

  10. I am so proud of you and your Sisters, may God Bless your wedding. I know your parents are happy and sad all in one package.

  11. Love this show and love this family! Can’t wait to see the wedding pictures! Blessings to all!

  12. I have watched this show from the beginning and can’t wait to see the wedding episode. It is so nice to watch a show, that the whole family can watch. I’ll admit, at first I thought it’s just another show, that with time will change. I’m happy to say this show has not changed, and I admire the way Jim Bob and Michelle are raising their family, and it’s very obvious that they all love and respect each other. Congratulation’s to Derick and Jill on their wedding day, and God Bless you! Thanks to TLC for bringing such a heartwarming story, for everyone to enjoy!

  13. I am just a little creeped out that they are selling the song Derick had written for their engagement. To me that is personal and private and only meant for them. That song means nothing to me like it means to Jill. I think the song should be tucked in a special place and once in a while they could pull out a recording of their song and listen to it. It is fun, and I have been married 30 years to pull the pictures out and revisit our story. But that is just what it is. It is our story. Not everyone knows everything about our story nor do they need to. Somethings are for our enjoyment only. I know I am not a celebrity but I think with social media being so readily available I believe celebrities have to be careful of what they are going to show and say “No that is private and I want to keep that for my intimate family.” My daughter recently graduated from High School and one of my coworkers wanted to know if I was going to post her Graduation Announcement and I said no I was not because I felt my daughters graduation was a private and intimate celebration that I wanted to share with family and close friends. I did not want coworkers coming to my home and talking about our home and any other private things I have not shared at work. Perhaps I am wrong. This is only my opinion.

  14. Love all the Duggars and the show. Wish I could meet you all. Congratulations. God Bless

  15. We love watching you all on tv. Congratulations on the up and coming nuptuals.

  16. I’m so excited for you both, and for your families, as you follow the Master Plan for your lives! May God continue to bless you abundantly. Thank you for living Godly lives.

  17. When will their wedding be shown? Please don’t tell me it was shown today.
