48 Things About Me

Were you named after anyone?
I don’t think so.

When was the last time you cried?
Probably while either reading a book or watching a movie (pretty much any movie).

Do you like your handwriting?
Not really, although I don’t think much about it. I was probably scarred by Mrs. Baughman, who gave me a C in 3rd grade and 4th grade in handwriting on my report card! The horror!

What is your favorite lunch meat?
I don’t eat lunch meat.

Do you have kids?
Yes, although if you’ve been here often you know that. I have 3 girls.

If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
I would hope so. But I guess that depends on which other person I was πŸ™‚

Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Oh yeah.

Do you still have your tonsils?

Would you bungee jump?
Nope, no desire to do that.

What is your favorite cereal?
Kellogg’s Raisin Bran. Not Post.

Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Yes, I’m always thinking of making it easier on myself next time I have to put them on.

Do you think you are strong?
Physically, not at all. Β Mentally/emotionally, I’m Superwoman.

What is your favorite ice cream?
Preferably something chocolate with a bunch of fudge and peanut buttery stuff mixed in.

What is the first thing you notice about people?
Hmmm … probably nothing physically, but once they start talking I size up whether they are “my” kind of person or not.

Red or Pink?
I don’t really care much about colors. So, I guess I would say either one.

What is the least favorite thing about yourself?
I’m pretty judgmental. I have high standards, although I tend to have them for myself more than for others.

Who do you miss the most?
I don’t know about a particular person. I miss my eight years of teaching. I just loved my students and that was a great time in my life. I got so much positive reinforcement. I also loved when my girls were little (preschool/early elementary years). I love them now too, but there’s something idyllic about those early years.

What is the technique that you need to work on the most?
I have no idea what type of technique this may be referring to πŸ™‚

What color shoes are you wearing?
No shoes — black socks with burgundy/red/white designs. Not nearly as crazy as that sounds.

What was the last thing you ate?
Hershey Bites (shhh!!! not on my diet)

What are you listening to right now?
Rush Limbaugh, although I have an awful ability to have the radio on and retain approximately 5% of what is said because I’m working at the computer.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
What’s with all the color questions?! Don’t know; don’t care; never thought about it.

Favorite smells?
Just walking into a Yankee Candle or Bath and Body Works store. Ahhhh!!!

How important are your political views to you?

Mountain hideaway or beach house?
Mountain hideaway. I am not a beach person and remember spending a few days on a Mediterranean Beach with my Italian penpal in the early /90s. I was fully aware that this should be a life-changing experience, yet all I could think of was When can we go back to the house?

Favorite sports to watch?
Not a sports fan — I suppose, gymnastics or figure skating.

Hair color?
Dark brown

Eye color?

Do you wear contacts?
Fraid so, otherwise I would most likely be legally blind.

Scary movies or happy endings?
I can enjoy either.

Last movie you watched?
“Puss in Boots,” chosen by my youngest last night since the Redbox machine was out of “Wreck It Ralph.”

What color shirt are you wearing?
Blue Homestead Band state champions sweatshirt, baby!

Summer or winter?
Summer, although I prefer fall or spring

Favorite dessert?
Brownies or anything chocolate/peanut butter/gooey/etc

Strength training or cardio?
I prefer neither, but since I have to — biking. I guess that’s cardio.

Computer or television?

What book are your reading now?
“Love No Matter What”

What is on your mouse pad?
No mousepad here. Are they bad now? It just now occurred to me that the mousepad had disappeared.

  1. Wearing no shoes, listening to Rush, having a good book to read on the side – Sounds like life is pretty good for you. . .

  2. That was interesting Susan. Learned a few things about you, and glad to see that I know you pretty well–no giant surprises.

  3. Fun questions! One of my very few Ds on a report card (I think I only had two, that I can recall) was for handwriting in 3rd grade. I was crushed. I tend to blame my horrible handwriting now on the trauma of that experience. πŸ˜‰

Loved your answer about being friends with yourself. πŸ™‚

I miss my kids at preschool age. Like you said, I love the young men they became, but sometimes I just miss those little guys.

I wanted to let you know that you won the drawing for The Little House Cookbook! If you’ll send me your address at barbarah06 (at) gmail (dot) com, I’ll get it off to you soon. Congratulations!

  4. It always amazes me how much you and I have in common! (And you’re right, this is a bit obsessed with color… maybe written by a color-blind person who’s living vicariously?)

  5. Very fun to read – I am totally with you on all of the chocolate/brownie/peanut butter/gooey stuff…must be genetic!!!

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I enjoy hearing your thoughts.
