Aging. It’s not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. I’ve reached the point where I really don’t like seeing photos of myself, particularly of my face. I have some weird jawline thing going where I fear I’m slowly morphing into the mom on Honey Boo Boo.
So when Dermagist asked if I’d like do a Complete Rejuvenation System review, I was not about to say no. I’ve always been
a little quite a bit skeptical of skin product claims. Can any cream really make me look 10 years younger? Erase lines? Decrease pore size? Really?
When my three products arrived, I tore them out of the package rapidly and eagerly. I was ready for a little rejuvenation!
The products arrived with clear instructions, which I liked. For two days, I applied Original Wrinkle Smoothing Cream twice a day. Having just helped my youngest complete her FINAL, EVER science fair project (!!!!), I decided to get all scientific with this and only apply it to one side of my face.
Two days later, I applied Age Defying Serum and then added the wrinkle smoothing cream. This continued for two days, and then I added the final product: Instant Lifting Serum. After a couple of weeks of this, I honestly could not see any difference between the two sides of my face. I actually thought that the “parentheses” line (yeah, don’t act like you don’t know what I mean) on the side of my face that I’d treated actually looked MORE pronounced! Horrors! I knew this could not be, plus it was a big pain to treat each side of my face differently, so I decided at that point to use the products on my entire face.
About two weeks into using the products, I noticed something odd. My cheek (and later, cheeks) began to feel oddly textured — kind of like I had some kind of masque on them that I needed to wash off. But I didn’t. I couldn’t tell that they looked any different, but they sure felt strange to the touch. I’m not sure what that’s about.
So, it’s been four weeks. My verdict? Sadly, I can’t tell any difference in my skin’s lines or appearance. But I’m a big believer in the idea that what works for one person’s skin may not work for another’s. Skin is such a personal thing.
Dermagist has generously offered to treat one of my readers with the same Complete Rejuvenation System to try. I think it would be fun to compare notes — maybe it would be the true fountain of youth for you! Hey — it sells for $130, which ain’t exactly chump change.
Dermagist was formerly known as Dermajuv (unsure what led to the name change), which you may have noticed in O magazine, Reader’s Digest, Every Day with Rachael Ray, Vogue, Woman’s Day , or more. They sell products for a wide variety of skin issues — from acne prevention to anti-aging to scar-fading to spa systems.
