Ludwig II birthday August 25 Mad King Ludwig

Thanks to daughter #3 for the fun graphic!

Something exciting is approaching, on August 25.

Perhaps you didn’t realize it, but that is King Ludwig II aka “Mad King Ludwig”‘s birthday. He would be 167.

In celebration of Ludwig’s birthday, I’ll be hosting special events all next week on the blog. It’s my grand roll-out of my latest book, “Not So Happily Ever After: The Tale of King Ludwig II.” If you don’t already have your copy, you may want to get it now so you’ll be up-to-date for next week. It’s available in both paperback and Kindle editions. Here’s the schedule:

Monday: a special Menu Plan Monday featuring German cuisine

Tuesday: Join me at author Dana Rongione’s A Word Fitly Spoken, where you’ll learn some never-before-known facts about me, writing, and the book.

Wednesday: We’ll head over to Hopewell Takes on LIFE! for a look at some fascinating facts about the Wittelsbach family

Thursday: I’ll be at Educational Travel, sharing some ideas you can use to teach your children about Ludwig and his most famous castle, Neuschwanstein. You’ll want to check out some very cool giveaways of the book over there as well.

Friday: Flying on over to An Arrow Through the Air where author David Todd interviews me about the Ludwig book.

Not So Happily Ever After: The Tale of King Ludwig II Mad King Ludwig

What party ideas can you come up with? What would you give to a 167-year-old king who loved King Louis XIV and designed some of the most iconic fairy tale castles in the world?

See you next week. Auf wiedersehen!
