Forgive the brief post today. I’ve just finished playing for three performances of the fifth grade’s production of The Wizard of Oz.
Interesting to note that, prior to doing the play, many kids were unfamiliar with the story. I realized during rehearsals that I knew the script almost verbatim, and my brain started protesting each time the kids deviated from it. I guess when you saw a movie annually as a child (it was a big event, the night Wizard of Oz was on TV!), it becomes hard-wired in your brain. Mine, at least.
Here’s wishing each of you safe travels through any haunted forests or cyclones you may encounter this weekend. And remember: if you want to find your heart’s desire, you don’t need to look any further than your own backyard, because if it isn’t there, you never lost it to begin with.
Have your kids (or any other special kids in your life) participated in a play? How did it go?
