Felt Mushroom House

A craft project I just finished:  this lovely little felt Mushroom House:

felt mushroom houseI saw these pictured on this wonderful blog, and the author was nice enough to post the pattern (which she created herself).

I haven’t had the time to do much needlework in recent years, and I had fun fiddling with the embroidery details on this.  I just used French knots, lazy daisies, and a straight-type stitch (don’t know the name).  It’s just made from felt, a bit of stuffing, and embroidery floss – all things I had around the house already.

Can’t you just imagine fairies coming to play amongst these at night?

felt mushroom house detailIt’s small (about 4″ tall), and I’m not sure whether to use it as a pin-cushion or just set it around to look cute.  She also has a Toadstool Cottage – maybe I can try that next.  I’m already thinking I could make one for each of the girls for next Christmas.

  1. This is way too cute to stick pins in! 🙂

I can’t believe you saw this, finished it, and considered it fun….. it looks very complicated and professional to me.
I wish I had your skills!

Thanks for being a part of TIMHT.

  2. Oh, how cute is that!!! I wish I could do things like this. I admire you so much for being able to craft something that adorable.

  3. Oh, that’s adorable! Make the little house too. I may have to get back into sewing and plastic canvas with all my domestic diva friends out there. :o) I’m feeling inspired again. I had quit stitching because of dual carpal tunnel but that’s all gone now. Surgery fixed that right up!
    Stay warm!

  4. How cute is that! I especially love the windows with flower boxes attached!
Without my crafts, I think I would have gone mad years ago. Stitching is my therapy!
